I dont think private parking lots count.

Seriously, 80 in a 65 is just lame. Luckily, CHP normally switch areas every month or so, so most of the time they won't spend the time driving out to the court or write to contend a declaration unless the court is closer to their house than their work.

Driveways are private property, so unless the owner of the driveway gives jurisdiction, and it's not a threat to public safety, they don't have any power to do anything to you.

same applies to parking lots. But most of the time, owners give permission to police to ticket on it.

Just yesterday, driving West on 10, cop sees me and starts switching lanes to try and throw me off. He slows down traffic so I can pull up to him (while drive 65 and I used cruise control to set that I won't go any faster). He slows the entire freeway down to 55 so I'd slowly pull up to him. As soon as I got next to him he sped up to pace me. After about 30 seconds of pacing, he gave up on me, changed lanes to the slowest lane to go after someone else.

The ENTIRE time this cop was targeting me, a guy almost hit me from behind because he was trying to weave through traffic and tail gating, honked at the car to the left of me because they were going to slow, and probably almost hit them too. That is why cops get a bad name.

im not saying i dont speed. i am just smart about it. like not during rush hour traffic into the city when it becomes a normal city street. complaining about going 15 mph over the speed limit is like telling the judge..."yeah i stabbed him, but the knife only went in a little bit."

and yes....i will tell him to slow down.

Using your stabbing comparison, you shouldn't tell him to slow down. Otherwise, that's like saying, "I stabbed him at a time and place where I knew it wouldn't kill him."

Sucks ..... Roll the dice looks like you crapped out.

CHP have really been cracking on the 680, So keep a eye out. If he stops you he's aready run your plate, So he's not going to waste his time not giving you a ticket. A warning now days is pulling behind you. running your plate, waiting for you to slow, Then passing you slowly staring at you.

i think you missed my point. its illegal if you do no matter the extent of it. whether it be 3 mph over or 15mph.

I wouldnt say illegal because maybe in some situation 3mph or 10mph over is safer than staying the speed limit.

wow...the posted speed limit is the maximum speed that you can drive legally. its not a suggestion. if the cop got a bad ******* from his girlfriend before his shift, and sees you driving 68 mph and gives you a ticket. its a legit ticket. an ******* ticket, but a ticket.

Black and white signs are max speed. Yellow and Black are advised or caution which gets into a whole other world of B.S.

But just like above. If you are 1mph or .50 mph over the limit they can write you.

Also if your speed which you know what you were doing matches the ticket. Just pay it and be done. wasting tax payer money and court time and the judge will make up for it in fines.

Don't worry, I got your point. I just don't like people saying slow down because of insurance rates, but then they go out and do the same thing. That's all.

He's not like the Evo driver that hit Nat because he was swerving through traffic.
