Are you referring to what BCM (and others I am assuming...) calls the "recce" upper?

I had all sorts of cool stuff when I lived up there, because the gun laws are actually reasonable. No FFL involvement between private sales, etc. I sold most of it in the interest of paying for school, but in most cases I wish I had not. Additionally, I was ((thisclose)) to buying a Bushmaster AR when the so-called Federal 'assault weapons' ban sunsetted a few years back. The gun shop I used to frequent was selling a few of them with the "Law Enforcement Use Only" stamp on the lower, which became moot - at least in WA state - after the ban was null and void.
WA has its problems, but the gun laws there are reasonable, CCL is shall issue as long as you have a clean record. I loved it when I lived there, could walk in to purchase a gun, give them my DL and CCL, they would call the feds and 15 minutes later I would walk out with my new gun. I've sold alot of things in my life, but have managed to keep all my firearms. I hear you when you say that you wish you hadn't sold yours. Anyway, enjoy building your new AR!

The Noveske N4 Light Recce is my favorite AR hands down. Softest shooting and most accurate carbine I've ever handled.

Noveske is unsurpased, but its $$$$ which he stated he didn't have to spend on the upper.

Lower is built - now saving for the upper. Thanks for all the advice - I'm going to probably spend a bit more than anticipated, but it all comes out in the wash.

Based on all suggestions, I am now in the market for a mid-length flat top 16" upper with a quad rail hand guard and no M4 front sight. I think I am going to use flip up iron sights for the time being and save for an EOTech holographic sight that uses AA batteries. Should work fine for what I want it for.

That Addax upper is so ill. I have to admit, I've been taking a fair bit of inspiration from your builds since I first saw them. FDE FTW!

Thanks, FDE and BLK with a touch of UDE from La Rue is the bomb! It's been a great upper and accurate as can be for a non magnified rifle.

Good to hear that these are inspiring you on your build/s. It's a disease it will not stop at one.

I am already looking to sell the Addax Side Charging GPU and move on to another platform. I have been through about 6 or 7 different configurations already.

Speaking of Addax, their ZK GPU is coming out soon.

http://www.adxtactical.com/store/pc/...idcategory=137

Comes with their Phalanx flash suppressor, BCM gunfighter charging handle, and Magpul MOE hand guards.

I hope to be getting one first part of next year.

The front sight is in the mail. Magpul just changed their mbus design and the front in FDE proved tricky to find. Of course, as soon as I look at the Midway website they have tons of them. I seriously looked everywhere else to no avail.

Still trying to decide what kind of optic I want. I'm leaning toward EO Tech - anyone have a used one they want to sell or trade for car parts? I know it's a longshot...

Details
-SNS Industries lower, which were apparently made from mega machine works blanks
-DPMS LPK
-Magpul FDE MIAD grip w/integrated ergo trigger guard
-Magpul ASAP sling mount
-Magpul CTM mil-spec stock
-Magpul BAD lever
-Milspec buffer tube + buffer
-Aero Precision upper receiver
-YHM free float midlength handguard
-YHM 1:9 milspec profile 16" barrel
-M4 feed ramps
-A2 flash suppressor
-Milspec BCG
-Milspec charging handle
-Magpul MBUS2 FDE flip-up sights
-Magpul XTM rail panels

Coming soon
-Optic of some sort
-Chrome BCG
-Tac light of some sort
-Spikes Tactical heavy buffer
-BLK rail panels to break up the OD and FDE bit. Maybe some brown too.
-?????

So yeah - it only took 4 months...
