man, that really sucks! I hate to hear of people (especially in security) not taking their job seriously and ignoring the car alarm! I would have gotten his boss to the lot and asked him his thoughts on that negligence because that definitely would contribute to a higher chance of theft!

auto-insurance....correct.

BUT...homeowners or renters insurance will cover that kind of stuff. I highly suggest it (after getting $5K worth of photo/video gear stolen out of my locked trunk).

Best $15/month I ever spent.

THAT WAS STRAIGHT UP BULL ****!

I dont understand how someone didn't notice another person unscrewing the racks off the top of his car. So his insurance isn't going to cover anything?

And the snow was pretty ****in sick... this thursday will be better though

i don't typically see people taking their racks off the top of their car and walk away with them at resorts.

Maybe there was something wrong with the rack, so they had to unbolt it. Maybe you walked by and didn't really pay attention to what someone was doing in their own car. I mean, unless they are breaking the windows or ripping out a stereo and throwing it into the next car, its kind of hard to tell if its a thief or not.

thing about our cars is we have frame less windows. so its really easy for someone to get into the car if they just go get a locksmith manual.

Dayum, y'all! Cut the VICTIMS some slack here. Are we really this cold & unfeeling as we play Monday morning QB?

They were on the last leg of a multi-day trip so they had all their gear (clothes, entertainment, etc.) in the wgn. Maybe it could've been concealed a bit better. I can't really say myself.

Seems like we all need to learn more than just theft deterrent techniques or that we should consider adequate property insurance coverage, eh?

Think how y'all would feel if you were unfortunate enuff to have gone thru such an ordeal. *tsk tsk*

No hate, I feel for them. I've had cars broken into numerous times. Learned the hard way as well, don't keep anything in them, ESPECIALLY in plain sight. Never had a break in attempt when there was nothing in the car.

Just something everyone should think about, cause leaving **** like that in the car it's gonna happen.

I wasn't attacking the victims, I'm rationalizing why other citizens didn't do anything when the car was being burglarized.

Dam I can't believe that happened! I Always hide my stuff in my car when I go ridding, but I always thought I was just being over cautious. I really would never expect that kind of stuff to happen in Tahoe.

I'm gonna keep everything in my trunk from now on. You can't get in there without a key

dude seriously? that is messed up. I was up there the same day as you, there weren't even that many people there. Thats no good bro. It would seem like it would pretty safe to park there, but damn, I'll have to remember that, hide everything the next time I'm up there.

Thats no good at all, no fun
