Don't buy the crappy $20 jack from Kragen. I did and I fear for my life when I'm under my car.
Although it is green and says "Import Tuner" on it, so I feel cool once I complete my under car task.

go with the Rino ramps Ray. I've had them for 5 years now. Used them with my Explorer, Bimmer, Honda, Suby. They won't break on you. They don't even flex. Way better and lighter than metal ramps.

I have some crappy jack stands and a crappy jack. I'm looking to upgrade as both of them scare the crap out of me. Have a car fall on you once and you'll freak out the rest of your life. I've had gear bust on me...car fell on my damn legs. Luckily I was doing my brakes so the rotor landed between my legs and I was able to slide out and jack my car back up.

I had bought the one from cosco and it kept slipping. So I returned it and bought the one from harbor frieght and it has worked fine.

Trying to get in the habit of using jackstand anytime more than one wheel is off the ground so I don't get a penalty when rallying later.

I've got a jack that is at least 30 years old and it works great for minor work. Don't know if I'd ever climb under a car without jackstands. I need to go buy some new stuff if I want to get under the car and work on my car in the future as well.

Is Harbor Freight a shop that is open to the public? Meaning you can walk in and buy stuff? My father lives in Newark and I'll swing by the place next time I'm in the area if its open to the public.

yeah...that's one reason to use them...the other is to live...remember that SRt4 kid that died....fell on his head.

I had a jack fail....said it up above....lucky.

I bought some ryno ramps. A creaper and some other crap. Spent like 2 bills. Still need a jack and some new stands. Found a cool performance auto parts shop in SC. But the jack was only rated at 1.5tons....no go.

I"m gonna get my jack and stands at harbor....

got a sweet light set up though.
