iPad
No doubt the iPhone and iPod are the shiz.. But really, there are similar OS's like the new Palm Pre OS and Android that sometimes even make the iPhone already feel outdated. I think with all the hype we expected something maybe a little more earth shattering than a super sized iPhone. Maybe something like an updated iPhone OS with multitasking, tablet with handwriting recognition, hand movement sensors, x-ray vision, smell-o-tron, i dunno, give us SOMETHING Apple... I'm sure there will be some slick apps for the iPad but still.. think most everyone except Appleheads will wait on this one.
i don't think it's going to sell all that well. it's going to sell like the macbook air. fan boys and people that sit at starbucks all day will ****** them up with the quickness. it's a tool made for a problem that isn't there.
Big, Ugly Bezel (I know the bezel is to protect unwanted inputs from your thumb)
No Multitasking
No Cameras
No HDMI Out
No Flash
Adapter Galore
Not Widescreen
Sounds like a real wiener to me.

I'm an Apple guy for the past 7 years. Even "I" think this is a sh*t idea. Apple hasn't done anything good that's not an iPhone since the aluminum unibody Macbooks.
Really???
Things this can do my netbook can't: Run iPhone apps.. touchscreen?
Things my netbook can do that the "Mac's iPad" can't: accept any usb attachment, play flash movies, *multitask*, webcam, run any piece of windows/linux software out there, skype, HDTV out..... probably a lot more.. plus netbooks are cheaper??
iFail.

They are way too small for me. I have a 13" MacBook and it is the perfect size for doing all my computing needs... on a Netbook I would be ripping my hair out and probably smash it against the wall. On the go I have my iphone and I have my desktop G5 for video editing/photoshop - Yes, I'm an Apple poster child - bite me
As for the iPad... I don't really have a need for it but I can really see it's appeal. A beautiful sleek audio/video/internet toy for people to play with (like the Kindel) And speaking of the Kindel, I didn't see people *****ing and moaning how it cant do anything but display books despite costing over $200.
I see this as filling a void for a lot of people. And looking at the stock price, I'm not the only one that sees it that way.
I would definitely choose this over a netbook. But then again I would never buy a netbook. Never

I have a Dell Mini 10 I purchased to have a small lightweight system to use on vacations, travel and commuting. The funny thing is I realized 95% of what I do on my desktop is on the internet, which the Mini can handle perfectly. I was lucky to get one with an HD resolution screen, 1366 x 740 or something like that so there is lots of real estate on the 10.1 inch screen.. I'm still surprised how much I use it, my desktop was down with a failed hard drive for almost 2 months and I didn't even miss it.
For me, a 12 inch netbook would be perfect, maybe just a little more processing power for higher quality video, I'd be happy. And from what I hear that's exactly what the next gen ones will offer. A 15 inch laptop is just too big, too much weight, too much hassle to carry around to work or on vacation.
