so i got a letter invite from fremont subaru for the grand opening this saturday.

the invite said that if i show them the invitation card and do a testdrive... i'll get a giftcard for bestbuy. anyone else get something similar to this?

I really hope they don't turn into Stevens Creek... But for some reason I have a feeling they will.

i think the i-club BAIC community should "fire" the first shot and extend a welcome hand to them.

that way, they know who we are. and we'll know how they plan to do their business.

santa cruz or stevens creek style...

 

should i test the waters in terms of warranty repairs? I still have that 4th gear synchro issue that Oakland gave me a hard time about.

 

What's the address? Also, tell them if they act like Carlsen or Santa Cruz, they'll be profitable. If they act like Stevens Creek, they can kiss their business goodbye as people will be willing to go to Carlsen.

 

Swoop in low-profile style; act like an average joe, i.e. no technical jargon, act ignorant but not dumb. Whatever you do, don't mention any club affiliation (i-Club, Nabisco, SCCA, etc.) or your experience at Oakland. I speak from experience as a former Subaru service writer (SoCal 3yrs ago), and if you want an honest, unbiased experience of this new dealer, that's the way to go.

i just happen to fall in the middle of everything... granted livermore subaru has really nice new digs.
