Introduction

Figured it'd be appropriate to take a moment to say hi and introduce myself. I currently do not own a WRX, in the process of finding one. Glad to see such an active Bay Area section for the cars. Gives me hope.

If anyone knows a good dealership in the bay area, with a salesperson I can trust, please let me know.

Thanks!

Welcome to the club. I suggest going to Santa Cruz Subaru and talking to Dan. He's a fellow subie enthusiast turned sales person and a really nice guy in general. I know its quite a drive, but that is by far the best dealership in the area.

Thanks

Welcome to i-club. Are you mainly looking for a new WRX or used?

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Hey, if the guy is good, I'd be willing to make the trip over a weekend.

And, yeah. Looking for used just to keep the cost down and still get a nice piece of car. But, also new enough to have a warranty still.

Windsor actually. I moved here from SR to live with the mom again and save money on rent.

anyways if you need someone to go around with you to buy, lemme know. just stay the hell away from Prestige Imports in Santa Rosa. they are total con's i promise you. i ended up paying 29k+extended warranty for my WRX. my fault mainly for letting it happen but they will try that crap all they can on unsuspecting buyers. and they lie about numbers hoping you wont question em, charging for pre-delivery and inspection...something that subaru of america reimburses them for.

Yeah, I don't deal with local dealerships any more. Or random salespeople for that matter. I have an AWESOME guy at Hansel Ford in Santa Rosa and he's doing his best to find me a WRX...but it'll probably be slow. That's not necessarily a BAD thing, because depending on the numbers, it may take me another 1-3 months to get the down payment, all depending. I've had an offer from a guy in TN (not sure I want to go out of state), a refferal to a guy in Santa Cruz...and some talk around here (Marin).

First and foremost, I need to get the numbers dialed in. I have an '05 car I'll need to sell first (I doubt a trade-in will be worth it for me) and potentially more money to save for a down payment...again depending on the numbers.

As for company, I'd definitely appreciate it. I know nothing about these cars, aside from everything I've read about them. Only ever been in an '05 WRX...and I've been in love since (about a year ago). Just trying to make it happen.

what kind of car are you selling?

I have a 2005 wrx and love it although id rather have a 98 impreza with a motor swap

marin mazda/subaru is a great place. i always feel comfortable there.

if you look for a 2002-03 wrx you can find em as cheap as 13g's generally. but usually more around 15k.

I'll be selling a 2005 Focus ST with about 8,600 miles on it. - And, I'm looking for an '04 WRX with 30,000 or less on it (5sp, Silver).

Most 04's I've seen around 30,000 miles are 18-22k at dealerships. Naturally, I'd like to find a good one for the lowest amount possible. A guy in TN from another WRX board has an '04 with the premium package going for $17,990.

I HATE YOU! :jealous:

I love P-town man. Best friend lives down there. I'm in the area all the time. - Thanks for keeping an eye out. I'd really appreciate it.

As friggin' depressing as it is, I think this probably won't happen until 2007. sigh. The numbers just aren't working. I've seen '04's with 30,000 miles going for 18-19k. But the majority in CA go for 21-23k. Oh well. Just gonna keep my eyes open and try to off the Focus in the meantime. With that out of the way, I can save 1,000+ a month.
