We pay more insurance for the Sti than we do for my Shelby. They said its due to more wrx/Sti wrecks and thefts than the Shelby. Makes sense to me.

I was 18 when I first bought my Wrx wagon in 2010 insurance and car under my name it cost $1400 full coverage with $500 deductible for collision and comprehensive. After a year it was like $1200. My STI is $3000 under my name so I moved it to my dads and it's only $400 lol

Someone tell me if I'm paying too much.
I have Mercury.
300k, 100k, with a 500 deductible on both comprehensive and collision
I'm 27, but my car is also not paid off yet, still ~6k to go, so I'm pretty sure that makes a difference as well.
I also only estimate my yearly mileage at 12k. (A blatant lie, but it helps insurance costs)
Perfectly clean record.
This costs me $116/month for an 09 WRX.
No additional coverage for all the aftermarket stuff.
