We pay more insurance for the Sti than we do for my Shelby. They said its due to more wrx/Sti wrecks and thefts than the Shelby. Makes sense to me.

"Pleasure car" vs. "commuter" (and how much you commute if so) can make a difference, point being effective planned use. Talk with an agent.

I was 18 when I first bought my Wrx wagon in 2010 insurance and car under my name it cost $1400 full coverage with $500 deductible for collision and comprehensive. After a year it was like $1200. My STI is $3000 under my name so I moved it to my dads and it's only $400 lol

Is it weird that the AAA insurance commercial just came on when I read this?

Someone tell me if I'm paying too much.

I have Mercury.
300k, 100k, with a 500 deductible on both comprehensive and collision
I'm 27, but my car is also not paid off yet, still ~6k to go, so I'm pretty sure that makes a difference as well.
I also only estimate my yearly mileage at 12k. (A blatant lie, but it helps insurance costs)
Perfectly clean record.

This costs me $116/month for an 09 WRX.
No additional coverage for all the aftermarket stuff.

$80 per month. But that's with USAA one of the added bennies of being a soldier.

My insurance for all 3 cars (Lotus Elise/ Forester XT/ & Impreza L) combined with my fiance listed as driver is 1512 dollars a year, I am 28 years old with 0 points and 300k/100k and 500 deductible on collision 100 for comprehensive. Give my agent a call and see what she can do for you guys. It's free to call! just let her know you know me (Simon).

Bunch of whiners...

I pay $253/month for a '09 2.5i.

And yes, I have shopped around. A lot.

(I'm 24 with 4 points and an at-fault totaled car.)

Not whining really... just curious. Its a low budget lifestyle for most of us.
