You're in San Jose, try giving Speed Element a call!

If you can't...

...warm up your car and drive it more than 10 miles, then Speed Element is your place. If you want the job done, done right, and done right the first time, then I'd suggest you visit a little shop in Novato, CA.

LIC Motorsports | Subaru service and repair serving Marin and Sonoma counties

Adam knows more than Subaru (Fuji Heavy Industries) about Subaru, and for my time and money, is one of only two shops in the United States I can say that about.

I have 4 basic subie shops I use in the bay area. both of your jobs are pretty simple, I would trust any of these guys to do the work
Speed Element - San Jose
GST Motorsports - Hayward (Dyno & tuning )
Auto Headquarters - Mountain View
Garage 1 - San Jose (more for general maintenance )

LIC is great, but if you want a shop that isn't as far but is the same quality, and care, you go visit Mert at RBMS Auto.

Personal opinion I wouldn't go to SE or AH but that is strictly a personal opinion and not given as fact.

Don't get me wrong LIC are great as are both Adam and Noah but your statement is a little off base as there is no way on this planet Adam knows more than FHI regarding Subaru's.

As an example, ask him the peak, average and minimum block pressure a forced induction Subaru runs through it's cooling system, or the drag co-efficient number for a 08 STI front end and I bet he can't tell you. However FHI can! (Actually FHI will respond with a question back for each before answering)

The only reason I wrote this is the OP is looking for shifter bushings installed not exactly rocket science so pretty much anyone that's worked on a Subaru before should be more than capable!

Since you're in San Jose I would suggest Speed Element. Great shop and good prices.

Garage1 does clean job! My vote is Garage1 if a SJ shop is needed.

I'm not sure FFTEC does Subarus. It's mostly EVO's shop.
