Bunta is the freakin king...
what happens is that the anime series covers only about 1/3 of the manga, so those that's up w/ the manga knows ALLLLLLL about the coolness of Bunta in the near future, Stage 4 is something to look forward to, as well as teh Version 3 of the Arcade Stage it just sucks that Bunta's car in Arcade Stage v.2 doesn't have an upgrade path...

and interesting tid bit about those who bought the piggie stickers,
Young Magazine was the original publisher of the Initial D manga,
which started the whole craze, so no wonder they're on the WRC cars

edit: oh yeah, whose freakin excited about Project D?

Meh... not a big fan of drifting... its cool when wrc style drifts are done, because its the fastest way around that certain corner.... however, all that show' crap doesn't impress me.

Hehehe... Trying to have an Initial D thread without ME?!
Fave driver is... not Bunta It's Mako and Sayuki in the Sileighty *drool* Drifting J-gal goodness!!!! (Actually Bunta is the best, just jerking y'all around )
Good luck doing perfect dry drifts in a stock WRX or even STi. I'd have to say that Supras, Fairlady's, Skylines, and Soarers would have issues too, due to their weight. I can vouch for the difficulty in getting a Skyline GT25S to kick out its rear end I'd say the best drift cars are the Silvia K's (all three generations, along with the hatchback 180SX and hybrid Sileighty). The FC3S and FD3S RX-7 are also great too. The Hachi Roku is more of a cult car that was actually originally intended for beginners for its ease of handling, "obedient" driving characteristics, and the forgiving nature of its low power and good weight balance.
To be frank, Tsuchiya Keiichi is the only person I have ever seen that hasn't ever blown a single drift. That says alot. Even the D-1 guys like *** and Nomu-Ken botch alotta drifts, and even venerable S15 team FNR (***uoka National Racing) has had close calls in their team drifts.
It's actually kinda funny since it wasn't Initial D that got me into drifting, but rather it was Video Option and Hot Version
Oh, and anyone ever check out the manga Wangan Midnight? Now that is a cool car manga!

There were also 500 factory-created SilEighties which is I believe, what they drive in the series.
