Talking Initial D (the TV series)

I finally got around to getting the first series of Initial D on DVD. It's a three disc set with 27 episodes. I've heard many of you talking about it over the past year but now i understand why. I love it.
I haven't yat purchase the series but instead borrowed it from a friend. To my joy the DVD's do not have copy guard and i was able to but it on VHS for the time being. He also has the second series which i can't wait to see.

How many of you watch it?
Who's your favorite racer?
Who out there has mastered the drift?

I do alot of my driving (almost every day) on twistie back roads and mountain roads and believe i'm pretty fast. however i have not mastered the drift. i have trouble doing it unless the roads are alittle wet. Even then i keep it down to the 4 or 5 corners that i have mastered. I can't afford to make a mistake on corners i'm not that use to. Plus oncoming traffic is a b!tch.

Eh... I think it's an okay series. The story line isn't too good. Since it's an extremely simple plot. (Don't want to go into detail due to possible spoilers) One thing to look forward to as you get from stage to stage, is the animation gets better (atleast in the japanese version). I have only have seen the japanese version (not which version you have). Since from what i've heard from the japanese version is much better, with better music, and they have their original names.

As to answer the questions: .

Who's your favorite racer?
Bunta... even though you only really see him drive once. In stage 4, which is coming out sometime this spring, he will be racing an old WRX against takumi, from what i've heard.

Who out there has mastered the drift?
It's pretty much impossible to do a 4 wheel drift with regular A-Spec WRXs, since the torque distribution between wheels creates understeer. But, I believe the only person who has completely mastered drift is Keiichi Tsuchiya, aka Drift King.
