i used to do it, like an onc or two oz. per 10 gallons.
i still use it for my 2 stroke mix, its said to raise octane...and my engine isnt pinging in my dirtbike so i use it since its $1 for a 16 oz bottle
if not better gas mileage, then it burns off more of the mixture than straight gas i heard, so it optimizes each combustion while straight gas leaves some behind.
someone said mythbusters busted it, but those guys are butt pirates and got paid to say that or something.

also gas is different at every station. some gas has something in it that causes condensation in the underground tanks and causes moisture. others dont have this element or whatever you call it, so the gas remains pure.
This info is all from a guy at my work that researches all this on the internet...pretty smart guy so i believe him
he tells me to go to Chevron, nothing else, so i do. plus they have those cool cartoon cars

from my experience, chevron made my suby run pretty ****ty IMO. felt sluggish, didnt pull as hard, basically seemed like the car lost a lot of power. but i got slightly better gas mileage. i usualy fill up 76, car feels much better.

"Keep acetone away from painted surfaces, such as the paint on your car under the gas tank opening. Acetone is the key ingredient in paint remover. In addition to paint, fuels, including acetone, gasoline alone can also dissolve asphalt and most plastics."

yeah thats true, but its only 1-2 oz. per 10 gallons
the bottle it comes in is plastic, so if they can sell that bottle for $1 im sure none of our car plastic will be cheaper quality.
Its harsh stuff though for how cheap it is

I heard that throwing some acetone in your gas tank will help an older fuel-injected car pass smog, as it creates cleaner emissions. I tried it once with my old SE-R, but it didn't work; not sure if I got the mixture right.
