Should I switch gas stations to get better gas mileage
I have an '06 WRX sedan with Cobb Stage 1. I've got over 7,000 miles on the car. My long-term median for gas mileage is 18.78 MPG, with a standard deviation of 1.88. I've inflated the tires per the tire pressures on the door well sticker.
Of the 30 times I have filled up, 90% of those times have been at 76 gas stations. All 30 times, I have used 91 CA octane. I tried WOT short-shifting the last three times and saw my gas mileage go up by 1 MPG.
Have any of you seen gas mileage increases by switching gas stations, keeping all else constant? If so, which gas station did you switch to?
Thanks in advance.

sorry, math words hurt my head. anyways, I dont have any info about switch stations, but it is cool to see that the wot/short shifting thing works, I read about it in road and track but didnt know if it would really work. I havent tried to do that close of a test, but between gas stations, I havent noticed a difference. I'm bad at driving economically all the time though

* second gear at 15 MPH
* third at 25
* fourth at 40
* fifth at 50
Sometimes at a red light, with a car in front of me, I could not go WOT in first gear once the light was green, lest I rear-end the car in front.

I tried the short shifting/wot. Didnt see any gains. My next test will be WOT and skipping gears
1-2-4-6
From my trials (23k on the sti now), Ive always gotten the mest mileage with chevron gas. In all city driving im in the 15mpg range, mixed 18-19.
Pulled off 26mpg 2 weekends ago driving to LA. 05 sti, cobb stage 2 cali map.

For the WOT short-shifting, those speeds put me at exactly 2,500 RPM.
And, go Bears! :-)

Yeah, I tried the short shifting thing, but the sti gears are so close I found myself pausing a while between each shift in order for the revs to drop. And at 2500rpm, sometimes it tends to bog, which means the ecu will correct with more fule (bad)
1st-shift at 3k into 2nd
hold second until 4k, shift into 4th at 40mph
hold 4th until 4k, shift into 6th at 60mph
edit: and go bears

I dunno about the '06 but the factory pressures for my car are set waaaaay to low for my taste (iirc something like 28/30?). Remember with less air in the tires have a bigger patch which lowers gas mileage. I usually keep my tires somewhere between 32-35 psi. I dunno, but to me 19 mpg seems a bit low, however I am on an ECUTek with a custom map, not a base map. I normally get around 22 city, 25 combined, and 27 driving from the bay to Pomona down 5.
My roommate down here only gets 26 when he drives his crappy old 1.6L 115 hp sentra with the A/C on. I laugh at him.

I will have the tires rotated at my 7,500 mile service, then I'll readjust the tire pressures.

Those numbers are unheard of for an STi

You're not going to maximize fuel economy at speeds over 80 mph, guys. The power needed to move a car increases almost exponentially, not linearly, at highway speeds. If you like driving 80+ to get to your destination faster, than you'll have to live with less than maximum possible fuel economy.
Short shifting can work as long as the load isn't too great, like climbing a steep grade. Try to minimize shifting and speed variations by looking ahead in the road. Every time you lift to shift, then plant your foot back on the go-pedal, the injectors shoot a shot of fuel to cover the bog that would result from the sudden throttle opening (same as an accelerator pump on a carburetor).
