just MHO... take it back if you can, and get the Panasonic. You will be MUCH happier!

I also need a TV...maybe 2....but I can't figure out what size to get as my old 4:3 60" projection is large (1728 in.sq)...most of the letterbox have smaller screens, or are crazy expensive...disappointing.

Most brands are okay with me except Mitsubishi....they look like something is wrong, haha.
Whit, just put the biggest widescreen TV that fits, or, get a new entertainment system to house the TV and components.

I would, but my grandparents are back in town by then, and my grandma... she gets pissed about stupid things.

Not worth it.

So, my bro in-law got a new tv and wants to know if I want his "old" one. He said it's "either a PDP-42A3HD or a PDP-4214HD" That is what is on the manual. He wants $500

yeah, or nay?

So it looks like it's the PDP-42A3HD. 2005-2006 Is that too far out on the "old plasma tech/don't bother" scale?

Yes. And $500 for that would be a rip off! He doesn't understand how much value he has lost.

For a 42" you can score for like $750 BRAND NEW!

Haha, no entertainment system, just sits in the corner.

The problem isn't space - that I've got, the screen though on the letter boxes is shorter, and I can't see it as well, we're all getting older.

I can watch my 60" 4:3 without glasses, but my friends letterbox 55" TV, I need my glasses to see it...I don't want to wear glasses to watch TV

I do appreciate you responding to my post though, thanks.
