Why wouldn't you test drive them and get the one you like to drive the most? I personally would not get an EVO, but the reasons are my own, not entirely logical and would not be helpful to this discussion (much like some of the other extremely subjective posts in here).

I really like the interior of the Evo X. The recaros feel nice and the navi option is good too. Overall the car feels bettter from the inside.
I was actually going to trade mine in about a year ago. I could've gotten a great deal on one.
But then I saw the trunk and it killed the car for me...

I don't think anyone buys an STi or EVO for the trunk size and awesome fuel economy. lol.
The EVO is the better performing car for the money without question. It also gives you a better ROI mod wise. My EVO 9 with only a TBE and tune was making well over 300whp.
Edit: IMO the CT9A's are the best EVO's made to date. Try driving a IX and a X back to back and see which one you like more.

Indeed, I would NEVER get in to modding subies heavy anymore, theyre fine with a turbo back and a tune, but yeah I was on my third motor as well by the time I came to my senses and bought a vette

i've always said that if anything were to happen to my car like a crash or it getting stolen, I would take the insurance money over to mitsubishi.. Even though I do like the 2011 STi sedans, I can't get over the hatchs ever coming out, and I don't like how they are not getting any power bumps!

for daily driving i would stick with a subie. for tracking an evo is a lot better. Also the crash test rating for the wrxs are a lot higher (I think). i know that the evo 8/9 has less airbags than my car too.
