Yeah but im looking at a used like 06-07 so thats what she is basing her ratings on. I cant afford a new one right now.
^ depends on where you look. On tarmac, yes but the difference is small, on gravel.....
I'm actually quite surprised and content with the general reaction of BAIC. If someone had posted on EVOM about this, there would've been a minor ****storm. Probably nazioc too.

I almost fell out of my chair when I read this. My wife and I have exactly the same conversation all the time.
I am a total evo fan boy. For the cost of cams, injectors, turbo, fuel pump and a tune on e-85 you can make reliable retarded power.
My wife will not let me do it as she feels they are unsafe. They are rated really low in consumer crash test ratings. I told her I would put a cage in it. Still no love.
SO I am left with having to dump tons of money into my WRX to make it fun.

I totally love Subaru's. If they would have kept up or improved the STi over the GD like aknowledged the fact that there was a problem with the design of the EJ25 and put better pistons in the latest models, I would probably not own a X. But as it is if you want to make any kind of real power with the EJ257 you have to build the shortblock. So for what was out there the X was the best choice for me when replacing my GDB STi. I test drove a IX MR before I bought my X and it was pretty nice as well. The interior was not a good as the X (not like the X is some benz either, lol) and it was smaller as well but some folks would like that too. I love the way the IX's look the most out of all the gens as far as the outside goes though for sure. But the X wins in the interior dept, and the back seat is huuuge on the X, so piling some buddies in the back and heading to tahoe will not be a problem. Not like the non-existent back seat of STi, lol.
