I agree. This is one case where I see the cop's side for sure. You don't know much, you just know you have a person who lost control of their vehicle which is carrying some serious-looking firepower.

it's only when you are in court, when you are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty...

Good thing they checked out huh?
That's because you have an irrational fear of fire arms.

Which is not a crime.

This is not **** Germany where you must have papers for legal fire arms.

Did Daniel commit a crime with said guns?
No.

Did he match a description of some dude who had committed a crime?
No.

Does Daniel have a criminal record?
No....I think.

I know of an LEO who lost his career for doing the same thing these *******s did to Daniel.

If you are so inclined, Daniel, go file a compliant with the dept.

That **** germany is my line bastard!!!!

I agree in most cases but it doesn't sound like they arrested/detained him. And it sounds like didn't dilly dally getting things figured out and when things got figured out they let him have the guns.

And he said he didn't have any firearms. I'm sure if he said... yeah I have some guns in the trunk, my wife and I, etc etc they wouldn't have done what they did. But in their eyes he lied though he clearly forgot and had a reasonable excuse for forgetting... he hit a tree.

Saying that... I am all for not being **** germany and all for the right to have arms of any kind as long as you don't have a criminal record that shows a pension for violence. But I still see where the officers would be careful.

and if I'm not mistaken there's a giant www.gunatics.com sticker on his window and his plate says gunatics. Probably why they asked if he had guns in the first place. I don't think that they would ask me that question if I was smashed in to a tree.

actually... YOU DO. with respect to "***-ault weapons" and 50 cals.

when i shoot my fiddy, i never leave home without the copy of the KA DOJ letter saying this is reg'ed to me.

Did Daniel commit a crime with said guns?
No.
possibly.

THey ask me if I have any weapons in the car, I say no (totally forgot), I get to the hospital and within 30 mins there's a slew of officers at the hospital asking me a bunch of questions..."Do you have weapons? " "Are you sure"... Thats when it hit me and was like "OH ****!", then I explained how my wife and I ahd been shooting earlier.
granted, it was an understandable mistake...

but still cops tend to err on a cautious side when someone they questioned before said no weapons are in the car and only later to find there are...

I never said or implied it was - and I am pretty sure you know what I am talking about. There are lots of things that are legal but attract attention. It is legal to have a sword by your side if it's sheathed. It's legal for someone with a medical marijuana card to smoke it, but it's probably not a good idea to stand in front of Safeway smoking a joint with a sword at your side.

I would guess cus of the night you shot yourself in the leg on accident and there was reports that night you said and the fact that you license plate says what it says they were seeing if you had anything in the car.

Even in my accident they went through everything in my car. My glove box was emptied to the floor the center console was dumped to the floor even the little fuse holder was on the floor and all my camera stuff was taken out of its bags and all dumped to the floor. They said they were making sure no weapons or drugs were in the car. They found nothing in my car like i knew they wouldn't.
