I take it these suspension parts are crap?

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/pts/278141615.html

I'm new to the game, but upon shopping some of these parts I came across these at a much lower price than other stuff. My intuition says these are crap, but if they aren't, someone let me know.

from time to time, you'll see the pair of those replica strut bars for 50 dollars.

that h-brace will probably be another 50-60 bucks...so that'll put you a little over 100. definitely not a 200$ package

do they work? well, i honestly can't remember if there was a difference with my whiteline f/r strut bars .

one of my friends who does track days in his 02 WRX wagon has the craigslist set and had no problems with them whatsoever.

Is he on this site? I'd like to ask him about it. I wasn't planning on modifying this car, but if those parts are really that inexpensive and aren't junk, I'd be intrigued.

ur better off going with some sway bars they will help a lot more than strut bars will. i only noticed a little difference after installing the rear strut bar and practically none with the front. sways on the other hand will help with understeer/oversteer problems

In a wagon, the rear strut bar is quite a noticeable improvement. Not so much in a sedan because they are already stiffer there.

I put an H brace on mine about 6 months ago. Also a nice improvement.

But if you don't already have swaybars, do that first.

Front and rear swaybars, rear endlinks, and then go for the front and rear strut tower braces and the lower H brace. I have cobb sway bars and rear endlinks, and ebay strut tower braces and h brace, got em for like 70 bucks shipped with a free fake sti oil cap . Had to cut some of the bolts for the rear strut tower braces but other than that everything works fine .

So I'm familiar with swaybars and struts. What exactly is an endlink and what is the difference in the stock and aftermarket ones?

The endlink is what connects the swaybar to the suspension arm.

Stockones are thick plastic that flexes with fairly soft rubber bushings.

Aftermarket ones are usually aluminum with either urathane or metal bearings.

Less flex means less sway and quicker response from bar.

^ this is correct. i have a wagon as well. front strut bar does nothing. rear strut bar... maybe helped a little, but thats within the error of my placebo effect, so i say its not worth the cash. on the other hand, sway bars and endlinks front and rear make a huge difference.

^agreed. I also have a wagon, and only bought strut bars for the bling factor. I need something shiny in my otherwise stock engine bay (my dp is coated black).

I have a wagon with a fair amount of suspension mods and the rear strut bar made a very nice and noticable difference. I'm running an ebay replica bar.
