This is partly true, but I also agree with you that the people that make the initial mistake are also at fault. They create the oppertunity for fraud, when it could have been all avoided.
I just wish people were more honest in general- these kind of bottom feeders (the guy in the subject of this thread) get what they deserve in the end.

Hey, i'll be the first to say it - it was totally, totally my fault. I made a mistake and i will accept the consequences, however, this guy was obviously faking an injury for the sake of pure greed - I at least didn't lie.
When I was in the Navy i rear-ended a lady in a parking lot on the day before New Years eve. It was like at about 3mph and there was a little damage to her car. She gets out doing the neck/back dance and all that. Anyway, this is the best part. I hadn't called my insurance company yet, when they call me. She had the same company and called them before I did. She was filing a 32000 dollar claim for damages to her car and person. I'm like oh, **** what am I going to do? The adjuster is reading off to me her account of the accident and its total bull****. But then he gets to the date and says Dec. 31. Fortunately for me I was on duty that day and was signed in as being watch at the time of the accident. The dumb ***** got the dates wrong on all of her claims paperwork and everything so I got off scott free.

People that try to take advantage of crap like this **** me off. They are raping the system, and making it more difficult for people with legitimate claims, while making everybody pay more for insurance. They need to turn the table on the greedy ones.... counter sue the bastards.

I'd get written statements from the police on the scene..as well as all of the medical personnel that came to the accident. Take pictures of your car. Get a statement from your girlfriend.
fax these to the ladies insurance adjuster with a statement threatening to file a counter suit for your time wasted and emotional damagest to you and your girlfriend for the stress caused over thoughts of the law suit.
They'll drop the rediculous charges....
if they don't.... let them take you to court and file a counter suit. if the judge doesn't see through this idiot then there is something terribly wrong.
just take good notes and keep good records...make no mistakes.
