Exclamation i need a job, NOW!!!

Hello all!

I just graduated from college and my summer job is about to end, so I need help finding a job! I graduated from UCSC with a degree in film and digital media and I'm currently looking for a job within the VIDEO GAME INDUSTRY.

As of now, I'm looking for any kind of opening even if it's just an internship b/c I just need to get my foot in the door to explore the industry, and to gain experience. My main goal is to be part of the marketing or production team.

If anyone can help me out, or if anyone knows of any other job openings within the video game, television, or movie industry, PLEASE let me know! Thanks for your time!

AJ

btw, im located in the Peninsula

What about Lucas Arts?

Also Z-Axis in San Mateo.

What is your discipline What apps. are you proficient at? Here at ILM we're at a hiring freeze at the moment + no internships.

dont work for EA is you can help it.. they treat their employees very poorly.

easiest way to get in is as either support or test.
Lucas arts is tough to get in.. they pay very little becuase they know all the little gamers want to work there. they are also far up in the northbay.

There is sony in redwood shores and i think infogrames might still have a campus somewher e in the santa clara area.

I used to for Accolade back in the day as a game tester. They were bought by infogrames roughly ~10 years ago.

Konami, Namco, EA (or Maxis, same place), Capcom, Sony Ent., etc, etc. EA's a coin flip. I have friends who are in and out of that place all the time. I've had a friend who basically said "f*ck you guys" and left because of the way he was treated in his department. Another friend quit his game testing gig at Konami to go back to work for EA again because they laid him off, then gave him a new offer with benefits (health care, etc, etc.). So it depends. I have friends at both Konami and EA, so I guess they're both okay places to work at, but be prepared for grueling hours.
