Nowhere did I say ANYTHING about your dad lying. If you look closely, I said it wasn't that simple or accurate to make that statement. Congratulations to your dad for losing the weight - and delaying the onset of symptoms. He's not "reversed" it, only placed it in check, and is doing everything to delay the progression of the disease. While heart disease goes hand in hand with diabetes (they're practically partners in murder) - experience from my heart attack in January - the "normal levels" aren't really a good indicator. I have LOW normal level of bad and good cholesterol, which in theory should be healthy.

Keep up the good work! I spent an hour today on my bike riding up and down the hills of some backroads around my house. Only one hill kicked my a$$ enough that I had to walk the second half.

OK.
I got the 2nd blood test back a little while ago.

The fasting blood sugar was still 130, but the A1c test was 5.4...with 6.0 and greater being diabetic.

On 1June09, I weighed in at 250lbs. On my a 6'5" ish dude, that didn't look "fat."

Cutting soda, sugar, carbs (mostly from beer) out and eating 5lbs of fruit & veggies a day...with a little meat...I'm down to 238lbs.

I have another test on 17Sept te see where I'm at.

Plus I'm hoping that the 2nd test will rule it out.
good luck man.

My friends dad had it pretty gnarly and he went on the adkins diet and it put it under control. My old man's got it too. He just has to monitor and is alright most of the time. No alcohol but he doesn't drink anyways.

once again. Good luck. keep us posted.

Damn dude. I'm 250 at 5'10" plusish.

I was over 260 a month ago. Now right at 250. Trying to get down to 200-215. 250 at 6'5" isn't bad at all... 230 is better but hell. The man wants me under 170 pounds and that's about impossible. At 200 pounds I look like a friggin professional fighter and isht. Haaaaa.

So that sounds like good results so far. Keep it up. Good luck on the next go around. Hopefully it's just a case of taking some time off and chilling... all work no play make bloodpressure high.

I see great changes in my future....
Does that mean no more In n Out for customers that drive 300 miles to get tunez?

In all seriousness, good luck!
