shaved subaru letters, might have ruined paint help!!!!

shaved subaru letters, might have ruined paint help!!!!

i heated the letters, used floss to get them off then goo gone to get rid of the excess, most of it came off but it there is still an outline of letters, but not in the adhesive, i might have ruined the paint. if i did what can i do to fix it? without having to get the whole trunk painted. its not chipped or anything just a faded out line kinda, please help any help would be highly appreciated

Try a good rubbing compound. How old is the car? Red is usually more prone to fading. At least from what I have heard.

like billjc suggested use a good rubbing compound, polish it, and wax it.

yeah thanx i was gonna try a compound jsut wanted to check thanx a lot ill let u guys know if that works out ok. yeah the car is red too and its a 2002

that's also why i wouldn't debadge if the car is that "old". it's inevitable that the paint will fade, thus leaving a discernible difference in coloration.

I debadged mine after 6months of use. After the letters came off, u can see hte outline of the letters. but I washed and waxed the car after that, and u can't see the outlines anymore. So try waxing it.
