I may be coming up to interview in Menlo Park area...

And if all goes well maybe working in that area. I was looking for some advice and maybe while I'm up there harass some of the locals and OG's that I haven't seen in a while (Daniel, Gagan, etc, etc, etc).

Also any suggestions on relatively close places to live in that area or anyone need a roommate/etc?

I'm hoping to hear something back in the next couple days.

when it comes to finding a place to live.. do your best to avoid East palo Alto. Its improved alot over the years from wha tit used to be, but alot of that is becuase they no longer write about all the murders they still have in the paper anymore.

try looking in Mt. View. its still a very nice area, but doesnt have the prices you see on the peninsula like in palo alto and north of that.

can try mountain view or redwood city...
there is one bit of east palo alto that's ok. (the new development behind ikea/home depot).. but getting to it you have to go through some not so nice areas....
for menlo park itself, if you look in central menlo park (east of el camino and west of 101) you may be able to find something more reasonably priced and not so 'ghetto'.
welcome to menlo park!! (grew up there)

The job will be at sun microsystems if it does come through. So any other reccommendations would be good as long as I'm not commuting more than 15mi one way.

i think they have sun campuses both in epa near the dumbarton bridge and on los altos blvd
you could find a place in redwood city/mountain view and be close enough to either one.

if you ar emoving up form socal.. youll also notice that traffic isnt nearly as bad 99% of the time as it is on any of hte hwys down there.
the 101,5 and 405 specifically.
