Need moving advice work in SJ, looking in REDWD City, Menlo park

Ok my buddy is wanting to move to menlo park or redwood city. Currently I live in lafayette/wc area and commute 100 miles a day to Junction ave, san jose, ...................I see Redwood city/Menlo Park/palo alto are only like 16 miles from my work. My question is; is this trickery and deciept ??? Can I bust this in like 15 minutes or is my commute really going to be like 45? I'm not trying to move and not be pretty close to work.

it will be long. 280 and 101 is always packed and backed up depending on what time you work. i drive from san jose to redwood city to go to authq and it takes me about 20 minutes driving 75mphto get there without traffic

I'd be going during commute hours, so it would be like 45 mins instead of 20 I take it.

maybe even longer but depends i think you should be good though because your going the opposite way of traffic. commute from san jose to redwood city at 8am is bumper to bumper sometimes and gets backed up for a while but if your commuting from redwood to san jose i think you should be good.
