ahh you are correct.
the scanner we have does do it. the guy i talked to yesterday didnt know what the **** he was talking about, apparently.
it was my O2 sensor, bank 1, sensor 1.
i cleared it, moved the wires and stuff at the connector, and the light came back on.
its obviously a loose connnection, or a short on the sensor side.
i cleared it again, after this. should be fine now, if it comes back on ill replace the bugger.
