I got a parking ticket at SF state... wtf

The other parking ticket thread got me thinking about a ticket I got there awhile ago and haven't paid. I intend to, but it isn't exactly high on my priority list.

What can they do? I noticed they've jacked the fine from 55 to 75 and now 90-something at last mailing.

WTF.

Can they come after me? Do I really have to pay? I even got a notice from them sent to my OUT OF STATE mailing address, where the car is registered.

I mean... they can't call collections on you, can they? I'm not going to see my FICO score dip because of this ****, I hope.

Won't they stick a boot on your car if you accumulate too many unpaid parking tickets?

No they are not going to come after you. Not paying, as most do, just ads fines. You will find the maximum of the ticket and fines added to your annual registration. I do not think any of this affects your credit score just your registration fees.

I think that's right. As far as the increase is concerned, they increased most if not all non-moving violations and moving violation fines. So be careful!

Well, I never park at SF State. It was only this once. Didn't read the signs, screwed up.

I don't forsee ever being back there.

Will they add it to my out of state registration? (I won't be registering my car in California).

That's a good question it depends on where you are registering it at. If they have an agreement with CA then yes - I know that Oregon does but I don't know about any of the other states.

I think that most states that share a border with each other have this intrastate agreement that way if you violate the law in their state they can still collect.
