Angry Wife got a parking ticket in San Rafael, $275!!WTF!!!!

Okay this is TEN TIMES BIGGER than ANY parking ticket Ive ever been given!!! she parked at the park n' ride under the freeway and I guess her car was partially in the cross hatched section next to a handcaped spot, not even the handicaped spot! Anyone have any ideas, theres no way a parking ticket can cost this much!!

I always tought that was the best spot to park so you are far away from the car on your right and the lined part gave those old f'rs enough space to park and swing the door all the way open without hitting your car. Well atleast thats how I saw it....

Handicapped are the worst to block. That's the normal price.

My friends brother was deployed to korea and was leaving in something under 12 hours. At 3am (of course being the ONLY car for miles) he rolled up to the ATM to get cash and was about 1/4 into the HC spot. Damn cops roll up and ticket him. There is no justice in the world.

BTW....I would of course fight it (I'm sure it's contested by mail as most parking tickets are). Go back, take pictures of the scenario, write a nice letter and include the pictures. I bet you can get it waived altogether. Or contest all the way to court.

Alternatively, buy the TurboXS turboback from that SF Officer in the classifieds and get him to *ahem* help you.

OK, I'm convinced that San Rafael sucks now. My last moving violation was for rolling through a crosswalk when the pedestrian was still standing on the sidewalk trying to decide whether they were going to cross or not. The cop was a real jerk, too, yelling at me to get out of the car and asking things like, "Is this your car? Did you buy it yourself?" Whatever. I submitted a written contest and didn't even receive a reply from them.

Maybe superfluous vehicle citations is how they supplement their city income...

Cops in Marin are a pain...get pulled over all the time...some are real nice guys though. I got pulled over in fairfax and almost got a fix it ticket for my exhaust but the guy liked it and let me go (he was a younger officer)... Another time in fairfax i was going through a DUI checkpoint and after the officer asked me if i was drinking he commented on how there are alot of other nice subarus in Marin, talked about RSTURBO's RS and how nutz it was, he then asked me where the best place to a get a suby was because he was looking into getting a WRX , I was completely shocked by all this...well anyway good luck and remember there are still a few good cops around...

edit for my grammer skillz....
