KEEP THE R32!!!! IMHO.. Your legal and not out of the pocket 15k. that 15k can be invested into your "legal" car and made to be one sick beast. trade it and your out 15k and now not "legal". Even if your plan is to track it having the ability/option to legally drive it on the street to me is worth passing up on the R34. again this is just my opinion.

i'm leaning towards the 32 as you all have suggested but the 34 is just so beautiful.... and the interior is so freaking cherry, but i do agree. i think this is going to have to be the way. thanks guys.

Yeah, I'd definitely keep the R32 if it's all legal - I think that's worth a lot. R32 looks so rad with the subtle fender flares, too. Do you have any pics of it? I myself have a KGC10 that I am very happy is 100% legal.

the KGC10 is an awesome car and the seller of the R34 also has one fully restored. The only pics I have right now are on page 4 of this thread.

R32. It's a modern classic and street legal to boot. Win-win!
P.S. I'm totally biased, as the R32 is one of my favorite Skylines EVAR!!!

Sorry to revive this thread from the dead....

Hey i-club, it’s been nearly a year since my last update and I haven’t forgotten about you all. Here’s the latest developments on the R32.
When I first got the car:

It was initially thought that this car was gray but it was in fact, jet-black.
Obtained the letter by USDOT and NHTSA that the car was brought into the US legally by Motorex.
I registered the car in the state of Montana.
I obtained full coverage insurance.
I had the entire motor rebuilt by Rebello Racing – complete overhaul of the block and internals. New, larger pistons, rods, balancing, etc – the works.

Going to run the stock turbos until they give out. Did this on purpose to save money and keep the car manageable while being able drive hard on motor alone.
Haltech for engine management –
****, this thing was expensive.Stoptech BBK front and rear.
Apexi coilovers from Japan.
Custom made Forgestar F-14’s in 18x10 all around:

Recently picked up a set of 18x8.5 rollers as spares from T-REXX133 (THANKS):

As the car was being taken apart, was pleasantly surprised to find the car had an OS Giken twin plate clutch, Apexi cams, an expensive boost controller, intercooler, and other goodies already installed

Car was cleaned up and looks like this today:

The engine is still going through the break-in process and I needed to put some miles on the motor. Picked it up last Friday morning and drove through Santa Cruz, PCH to 84, up to Alice’s, south on 35 (skyline) to hwy 9 and 32, did the loop on 9 (a little fast), and back through 35 to 92 and over to Foster City for lunch.
I got convinced that I needed to drive it more and so I took it home and drove it a good amount of miles before getting it back to the shop last Sunday. Another 200 miles and then it goes on the dyno for final tuning and smoothing out of the power band.
Needless to say, I had a fookin blast driving the R32 around the Bay Area this past weekend and I consider myself pretty lucky that I did not get pulled over. I did get passed up by CHP a handful of times as it was St Patty’s day weekend but no drama

When the dyno/tuning is all done, it gets tinted windows, minor body work to fix the side skirts that are kind of falling off, and a nice detail to get it shiny again.
