Another idea is to rub a long cable in a very sneaky way and place a small switch 'somewhere' that breaks the clutch safety switch circuit. The won't be looking for that most likely.

if you really wanna be trick about this, and i dont know if they still do this in IASCA car alarm competitions (yes, they use to have those, in addition to car audio competition), but a cool trick was to use the cig lighter as the valet/kill switch mechanism.

you just rip the circuit for the cig lighter from the car and wire it to the starter relay.

so if you wanna start the car, just insert the cig lighter into the receptacle. that makes a full circuit and allows you start the car.

that's a pretty cool trick! but I don't have a cig lighter in my car. Just a piece of plastic that looks like a cig lighter...

yea, actually I have seen that done alot with custom hot rods.....its a very cool way to have a kill switch, plus not too many people would think that you need a cig. lighter to start the car. Good call ldivinag!

edit: iBlueVirus....you can get a cig. lighter package from any Kragens or other auto parts stores, that includes the receptacle and the lighter itself.

BAH..you suck. I've already got the wireing diagram to do it to my caddy. That's what I'm doing. But I was gonna keep it top secret. boooooooooo. I've thought about doing a fuel pump one like that in my wrx. Still might.

Dang man...blew my top secret kill switch.

yeah, i know, but i don't smoke, so I don't think I would get one. plus, this is just my crappy (yet all powerful! ) 98 Protege. I don't think anyone would steal my car. Plus, I have it in my garage at night. (yes, i do use my garage to park my car, not storage.

LOL cool, I just meant in case you only wanted to use it as a switch....

My car gets to park in the garage too, because I dont own enough stuff to fill a garage, and its only a single car.

oops... lemme clarify...

not the thing you plug into the socket that heats up to ignite the actual cigarette.

but the socket itself.

the socket, the walls are normally connected to negative. the tip or center is connected to positive.

when used as designed, when you INSERT the cig ighter thingee, will heat up.

but like said, just disconnect it. you now have a device that is technically a 2 post switch. you just connect the 2 post to complete the circuit.

so if you take the wire that is normally connected to ground and wire that to one side of the ignition and the wire that is connected to positive and connect that to the starter relay, you have a circuit, albeit, a unconnected one.

so when you insert anything in the socket, hell, it can a solid piece of metal, as long as the sides connect with the center post, you complete the starter relay circuit...

easy as pie, simple as cake...

now a smart thief will say him or herself, "hey i can just bump start this car!"

that's where you think... i can wire this into the fuel pump circuit....

at initial thoughts, that would totally defeat the thief from starting your car. but you better make sure your wiring is GREAT so as to not have the system fail you are driving...
