im still sayin craigslist is going to be the best bet. you're not gunna pay the 100/150... but for 2-300, its still worth it.

the other hacks they tried weren't stable and were pretty much for phones not tablets.

edit: was it with pics and this forum...

preliminary thoughts from my first minutes of use:

- have an L hand, so it fits perfectly between my fingers, almost resting in the palm

- size seems small at first until you hold it in your hand, the weight feels a little heavy but not obtrusively so

- speakers are at the top, which is good - but the power button and power and headset plugs are on the bottom (not so good to me)

- the screen looks like it has a provision for a front-facing camera, but there isn't one

- screen definitely needs a protector - very visible fingerprints and smudges

- all my books were pre-loaded (for download), but my music and video (purchased from Amazon) were not

- surfing seems good, but haven't done it extensively - facebook is the mobile version, although google is the classic one

- 2-finger zoom in/out on web pages - books zoom like in the Kindle app

- can't change the wallpaper from what I can ascertain, it changes on its own

- 6.5 GB of storage was initially available

- no USB<>micro USB cable included (which I didn't care about since I had my Motorola ones)

Rumors are starting that the Blackberry Playbook (or whatever it is called) will be going for $99, $149, and $199. Research In Motion employees are already able to buy them for those prices.

Blackberry Playbook $99 to RIM Employees. Are we next?

I dont even think im supposed to be sharing this work email...lol..

"HP employees will have a chance to purchase a refurbished HP TouchPad via eBay before the sale is announced to the general public. Specifically, the TouchPads will be offered through one of HP’s newest marketplaces for close-out and refurbished HP products, the new HP eBay Store."

thats the meat of the email and employess will get their shot first then the public.

" • The product offer will be announced to the general public on Monday morning and is expected to sell-out quickly thereafter, so don’t delay." Monday Dec. 12th

lastely..the bad news is..even though its refurb, its still at the same fire sale price of 99 for 16gb and 149 for the 32gb. I assume the 16gb will sell out first.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
