HP pulled me over for STOCK STi EXHAUST!
I just got pulled over this morning on 92 west. I was just going along in traffic, 5 mph. The CPH was about to exit to 101 S when I passed him. He then came all the way over to my lane, far left, and followed me. Then his lights came on!
I pulled over and he asked me if I had a modified exhaust! No, officer sir, I just got the car 1 month ago. This is the stock exhaust it came with. Then he asked me if I had gotten the car from a car dealer! Yes officer sir, I got this from Carlsen Subaru, the window sticker shows it. Then he asked me if I have anything modified under my hood and told to pop the hood! No officer sir, it's a new car, I'm not about to modify a 1 month old car. So, I popped my hood and he poked around and took my license #.
I thought CHP had budget cuts and that they should be patroling for drunks, bad drivers, accidents, etc...NOT good drivers with a freakin STOCK CAR!

End of the month....gotta meet that ticket quota...I dont care what anyone says....I think cops DO have a monthly ticket quota....otherwise why, at the end of every month, cops are always out it major force pulling ppl over for stupid SH|T...every time I hear a story like this....it takes place within the last 3-4 days of the month....every time without fail....its just plain sad.

Yeah, the quota sounds like the cause. But, I'm sure there are plenty of true violators out there that has smoking pipes, expired tags, you name it.
I think was I just at the wrong place at the wrong time. And I had the wing replaced to a regular WRX one. Imagine what would happen if I still had the stock wing on there...Is that a modified wing there??? You know it's obstructing your rear view boy?!?! You're in violation of some FAA rule prohibiting a winged object operating on a automobile road way!

COPS AND THEIR QUOTAS....Yeah I agree they must have to meet some kind of quota at end of month...pull you over for the most stupidest stuff ever...I got pulled over and me and my friend asked cop why he pulled us over and he was like ummmm, ummmm (like he was thinking of what to pin on us)...there was a person walking across the st. you didnt stop, so just sign the ticket so i can be on my way... he should have just said i saw a fly hit your windshield, so I am writing you a ticket up for that...geesh cops, go find something better to do!

Nope, my STi is white. No plates yet and I changed the stock STi wing to the regular WRX one so I can be less conspicuous. I guess the scoop is too big for him!

I thought about just holowing out my sti muffler so it looked stock and running a 3" turbo back so I would not get pulled over, I guess I'll have to ditch the chrome tip, that seems to attract attention.....along with that wing. I love the wing, but for the love of god that is a Cop magnet, time to get a CF trunk with no wing just to avoid the bullcrap.

Thanks guys. But what if I did had a modified exhaust but with CARB legal sticker. Can the cop still give me a ticket?
I just think this is so messed up, I don't see them pulling over Camero, Mustang, or Firebirds over for loud Borla or any other aftermarket exhaust! Just because I drive a Japanese car they will automatically think that I have some illegal mods that will destroy the environment? I'm pretty sure our Subarus are much more enironmentally friendly than the V8s.

Even if you have a CARB legal (w/EO#) exhaust, like I do, if a LEO finds your exhaust too loud, he can still cite you.
The Mfgr. isn't getting the CARB EO# for noise purposes, but for emissions purposes.
