and im guessing that welding all the channels to the end caps isnt as easy as putting together a turbo.

id get an RS if i were you.
You're guessing wrong

Tanks - Core

Weld tanks to core = intercooler

The cores are made by a giant machine and brazed together

You are correct sir. I will just have to deal with the cost, because everyone else does.

giant machine...welder..skill to weld...sounds very inexpensive to me~

if they had a little sticker you put on your dash that gave you 500 HP, would you buy it for $2000? for a little sticker? yeah everyone would buy it.

Radiators dont give nearly as much benefit as an intercooler does, so they sell the radiators for less, not to mention radiator sales are at least double if not 10X that of intercooler sales, again im guessing, ive seen a bunch of radiator only shops in business for years, ive yet to see an intercooler shop.

its just too small of a market to sell for cheap i think.

The should be inexpensive because it is pumped out in such volume by sweaty little kids overseas.

I got my whole setup with TIAL BOV welded in and in black for just under 1k. If you look around you can find a good deal. FMIC don't see the same stress levels and abuse like a turbo charger does. Buying a turbo used is WAY more of a risk than a FMIC used.

Oh, I also have a brand new Perrin FMIC kit, w/ blow through MAF conversion, and thermal coating.
Costs less than a plain Perrin FMIC kit.
