I'm not sure if the Fake ones have the FIA sticker on them or not (I think that is the correct sticker, could be wrong though).

I don't know how all fakes are but i've seen fakes that you can tell by closely looking at stitching and logo placement. Often times you will notice a few or many abnormalities in the placement and stitching. Also try to look for one of those genuine stickers.

Bride seats aren't all that great... They are JDM and all, but they make a ton of noise (like someone else said) and cost a lot of money! Why not go for a Sparco or Recaro? Better support for those seats too and the Brides tend to run small.

Did you know that they are actually pronounced "Brid"? Not "BrIde"?

It seemed like it was "Canada" was where the Fake Brides were coming from.

There is an image showing some plastic 'button' things and other small details which help you tell between the fakes and the real ones.

And do $1k seats really squeak?

I haven't had to much experience with fixed backs, but IMO Recaros > all.

Generally Euro > all.

Funny, many of the uber JDM parts on my car have given me problems, all the US/Euro stuff, none.

And lets not get into Subaru's build quality on the STi. I think a Ford Fiesta more refined.
