I thought it was just a rumor, but apparently it's now in the books! Good for them, bad for Billy. 
I don't hate Macs, I don't hate windows... Both sides have weaknesses and strengths. This should be interesting...

Meh. We are a FreeBSD/Linux shop, tons of people have MacBooks. We still run Windows VMs though. Why? Because there are tons of applications we have to use that are Windows-only. O/S is just a pretty or ugly toy until other companies make their software work on it.

Windows installations on desktop computers were no longer allowed, although laptops were still eligible for Windows at the employee's discretion.

Because it's nice hardware and integrates multiple O/Ss like a windows or Linux machine can not. I run XP virtual image under vmware fusion and can drag/drop and copy/paste between OS X and XP. It's very productive, can't do that with just windows.
