Welcome to i-club, enjoy your stay.

What did the members and mods do that was so out of line? Make fun of two douche bags that not only crashed their cars and lied about how they did it or own up to their mistakes (speeding and crashing, IE: Their fault). If they were honest and owned up to being at fault and having a lapse in judgement like everyone does at one point or another, you think we'd still make fun of their stupidity? Sure, there might be some comments about how dumb they were being, but it'd be minimal and end there... They brought this douchebaggery onto themselves...

Maybe next time they will realize that they are on a public road with other cars AND INNOCENT PASSENGERS IN THEIR CARS and not endanger other peoples lives when they decide to be "expert track stars" and show off... This accident could have been MUCH worse... MUCH WORSE!!! I don't care if they kill themselves (well, it would suck, but its their own choice), but what about the passengers and other cars that were there? What if a car was coming the other direction? What if my mom was standing off the side of the road in the dirt and got hit!? (Okay, kidding about that last one)... These guys don't deserve our sympathy, they accepted the responsibilities of their actions when they decided to do what they did, unfortunatly for them, they played the lotto and they lost... So remember kids, if you decide to push your car on a public road past its ability (well, not past the cars ability, more like past YOUR ability), expect to be ridiculed by responsible car owners that frown upon things like this... At least if you do it, do it by yourself and not with others in or around your car! Darwin yourself.

It's not a WRX, duh! It's not a chop, I can attest to that, since I was in the car when this pic was taken.

Suffice it to say, a Shiv (VISHNU) tuned Forester XT is very capable of doing that speed and faster. The only limitation on it is the feeling that the hood scoop is going to rip free from the hood and smash directly into the windshield, creating some really bad consequences. That's why we chose to slow down.

Just ask Peaty (mod here, as well as co-founder of Scoobymods). It's his picture from his position in the back seat.

Brucelee: my point was that we should hold ourselves to a higher standard. That is one of the things I like about i-club as opposed to NASIOC, but as of late it seems the negativity has spread.

Yes I am aware I am as guilty as the next guy, but at least I can look at myself and go "man, you are acting like a jackass!!" This is not meant as a justification, but constructive criticism aimed at self improvement. Pride and ego are the enemy here.

Without going into detail, I will say that your points are valid...but the "other side" has a few as well. When it really comes down to it, does it do any good perpetuate a witch hunt? In the end both sides become standoff-ish, bathing in their foolish pride, and the site is nothing more than an extension of our dysfunctional 2 party political system

They will know they screwed up when the insurance bill and/or lawsuits strike home. Just be glad no innocent parties were injured, and move on.

/soapbox, rant, whatever you call it
