How many of you left subarus completely?

Thinking about selling the sti and getting a tacoma. Anyone do anything similar and regretted it?

First subaru was a bone stock 02 wrx wagon that I built during college that I loved until it got totalled by a drunk driver.

I couldn't afford another subaru for awhile until I eventually got wheel dudes 06 sti. That car was awesome. My dumbass traded it in for a 2015 brz and it still is one of the biggest regrets in my life.

Shortly after I sold the brz and picked up hucks 2010 sti which I still have now.

It's probably the fastest car I've owned but I don't feel connected to it. It's practical as **** but I'm considering getting out of the car scene completely and just messing around with a tacoma for daily duty. I'm also scared of potentially having the sti motor blow up on me one day and might want to get rid of it before it happens.

My wife drives an e90 m3 if I ever want to mod a car.

I think I'd miss the subaru community, i-club, and the rumble. Anybody here get out of subaru completely ? Kind of a dumb question since its a subaru forum but Whatevs.

I sold my 07 STi and got a 2001 Tacoma. Never, ever saw myself getting back into a Subaru.

Ended up selling the Tacoma a few weeks ago and picked up a 2016 Forester XT. It's practical and fits my lifestyle now way more than the STi, but I really miss the Tacoma.

It'll be way more comfortable going to Tahoe in the Forester and I bought a trailer for my track bike.

Won't be able to off-road nearly as well, but I never really had the time to do that anyway so I figure it was an okay move.

The creature comforts are definitely nice.

Newer Tacomas are way overpriced though.

Still riding on your old board btw! Got a new one for this year if there is good snow though.

I've jumped around a bit since I sold my RS. I'm back in a BRZ which is different from the typical subaru but i love it.

I really miss my RS though. Really wish I didn't sell it. It's since been totaled so buying it back isn't an option :/

I love subarus, I'll probably always have one

fellow subie owner i knew sold their 06 sti, bought a tacoma, sold that, and bought a 4runner. i like their 4runner better. just my thoughts.

personally, i sold my old legacy, thought about a tacoma as well, but dealership wouldn't give me a price i would accept. subie dealership gave me a stupid offer an a new impreza that i couldn't refuse. i'm happy sticking w/ the subie.

Why would you limit yourself to one car? **** I have five right now and am thinking about picking up 2 more (wrx wagon and a 1st gen forester) in the next year.

Never understood why people dump a car to get another. Its paid for, keep it.

*edit* also you could not GIVE me a new toyota. Any truck/4runner built after 2004 is a pile of crap and all and I mean all of them built 1996-2015 have major frame issues. Do your research before you snap up a new truck.

Sold my 05 STi to a close friend and picked up a 2015 Ford F-150 with the 3.5 EcoBoost motor
Still have our 2013 Legacy but its no STi lol.
I'm stucco contractor and my old truck was on its last leg and thats when I decided to sell my old truck and the STi. Although I really didn't have to sell the STi, but just having it sit for sometimes a week or more at a time, paying insurnace and registration for it didn't make sense to me to keep it around. Although I do miss it at times.
Maybe down the road I'll pick up another STi

I had a taco a while back. While I liked the taco, I definitely do not miss it. I would miss the STI. I picked up an eGolf for a daily beater, primarily for HOV access. It's only been a month but I'm starting to enjoy the pleasantness of an EV. Especially for commute. No more annoying rattles, no shift changes, silence during rush hour and all of the modern creature comfort luxuries have me a bit pampered.

EV is not that fun of a ride but I think my STI's days are numbered. May be trading it in next year for something bigger and better. After spending the last ~1.5-2 years of not dealing with gas, not really interested in going back to burning dinosaurs. Leaning toward an ATS-V. Will be interested to see what I can get out there that can get modded into E85.

Not really. Cars have gotten quite a bit more expensive for what you get now and the new car craze is all about mileage and green while throwing out reliability as most horsepower which use to be major factors. Also now that cars are disposable items and as much plastic is used on the engine covers etc as possible. No real desire for most new cars, I would only get rid of the sti to buy a classic car I've always wanted because they are going up so quickly now is the last chance.

Overbear- my house only has space for 2 cars.

Joltdude- the motor came back mysteriously with iffy compression/leak down numbers. Runs great, doesn't burn any oil and they couldn't figure out what was wrong but knowing the numbers I keep wondering if a random pull is gonna blow it up.

I did enjoy driving it during last night's rain. Going to try to hold off for the next couple years until I really need to step away from it and move on I think.

I sold my 2005 WRX for a 2005 Ram 2500 then sold the Ram for another 2005 WRX then sold the 2nd 2005 WRX for a 2011 Mustang GT then traded the Gt for a 2015 WRX. Every time I got some thing not Subaru I was happy with it for awhile, but always regretted selling the Subie. I am back to the WRX and very happy!

I sold my 04 STi awhile back. I don't miss it particularly too much. It was practical in a sense that it had lots of room for groceries and trips. But i didn't care for the 21 mpg during the $5/gal days with my 100 mile/day commute.

Considering i bought it for 29k new, and prices are ridiculously higher now. I don't see myself getting back into a subaru any time soon.
