How to fit a motorcycle into a compact car.

"On completion of their investigations, the Swedish Police had this vehicle & bike "cleaned out" and put it back together to show what can happen in a motorcycle accident. The Honda rider was traveling at such "very high speed", his reaction time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. Swedish Police estimate a speed of ~250 KM/h before the bike T-boned the slow moving car at an intersection. At that speed, they estimated that the rider's reaction time, once the vehicle came into view, wasn't sufficient enough for him to even apply the brakes. The car had two passengers. The bike & rider were found INSIDE the car. The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 10 feet from where the collision took place. All three involved (two in car plus rider) were killed instantly. The Swedish Police and Road safety Department placed this graphic demonstration at the Stockholm Motorcycle Fair. The sign above the display also noted that the rider had only recently obtained his license."

Thats some serious momentum to cause that.... I feel bad for the families of all involved- but no remorse for the rider- wish he had survived so he had to live with this.

Something similar to this happened down in Morgan Hill a few years back. A guy on a Honda 900RR came over the East Dunne overpass at about 110mph and t-boned a young woman making a left hand turn onto East Dunne from 101 North. The bike hit the driver's door squarely and launched the rider over the top. He survived. The woman driving the car didn't.

Altough he was speeding, as a fellow rider cars do not see you and pull out or change lanes in front of you. Do you perhaps think the car pulled out thinking he was further back and going slower then he was? Even so he was speeding but the accident Could have been avoiding if people could possibly determine speed a bit better. That said i do feel sorry for all the Families invovled.

thats why all drivers/riders should drive defensively. the accident also could have been avoided if the rider was not going so fast, duh.

"Although he was speeding, as a fellow rider, I can attest to the fact that sometimes cars do not see us. They pull out or change lanes in front of us. Is it possible that the driver of the car underestimated the rider's distance and speed? Even though the rider was speeding, the accident could have been avoided if the motorist determined his speed more accurately. That said, I do feel sorry for all the families involved."
