I did 2 days of group 1, no group 2, 3 days of group 3, and 1 group 4 before testing for my license. I kind of rushed through it though, I would advise a little more time and don't move up until your instructor says so. Racing is definetely something where if you do not have the basics down and try to go fast to early, you will only end up slower (and crashing your car) in the end.
