Lets get this party started!

Warranty? The only time I took my car in for the warranty is when my window switch broke.

Window squeeking? My drivers window does this alot but i wasnt to worried but maybe i should take advantage. I'm more worried about my fifth gear takin alil time to get into, as well as reverse. I know reverse is the first thing to start giving people problems when the clutch is goin. My car has only 8k miles so maybe i should get it all checked out. or do i need ot just give it some more break in time. Please reply with your ideas! thanx all, I-club Rules

Everyones got that reverse problem so I wouldnt even worry about it. Ive heard switching gear oil dramatically helps the problem though.

This one time, I tossed a 150 shot of naaawwwwwsss in there, and something went bangbangbangclunk, so I yanked it right, and went into the dealer, and they wouldn't fix it, so I told my daddy, and he got mad and yelled, and they still said no, so my daddy got his mean lawyer down there, and they STILL said no and now I think Subaru sucks and I hate them and the subaru is crap and

I mean, I've never had a problem that didn't deserve, and get, warranty treatment. Which besically means I got the clutch TSB done with no trouble. Done the same day in fact.

Hey BAN SUVS its people like you why Subaru is so quick to void a warrenty. You didnt think that NOS will cause damage to a motor? Now when i get an alarm they said it will void warrenty. They even said if i rev to high it will void warrenty.

I've never brought my car in for warrantly work either, I dont trust others working on my car. So I do all the work myself Plus it's probably modded out of a warrantly anyway.

Relax supra_man! In case you didn't notice Ban is a moderator here, and you may have also missed the bit of sarcasm he threw in.

A dealer can not void your warranty by the simple addition of an alarm. If a modification is completely unrelated to what broke, they legally have to fix the problem!

You guys only have one Subaru dealer right? I imagine any competition would keep them in line. Fact is, under the Magnussen-Moss Warranty Act, it is the manufacturer's burden of proof that your modifications caused or otherwise led to a mechanical or electrical/electronic failure. If you install and alarm or TT, and your harness gets fried, tough. But if you do that and cylinder 3 starts misfiring, they have to fix it. Also, NOTHING voids your entire warranty. It's not one big catch-all clause, it covers each component seperately. Some are of course inter-related, for instance adding Vishnu Stage III will indeed void your tranny and diff warranties, but not the one on your power mirrors.

well the guys at the dealership said you can do anything as long as it doesnt add horsepower. So as you can see i get two different storys from 2 diff dealerships and from people with subys.

That is a pretty reasonable statement. With a WRX, there are very few mods that won't make a dealer wary about fixing your drivetrain under warranty. You can do a catback exhaust, drop-in filter, plugs and wires, but that's about it. Anything that removes a cat or raises boost or messes with the ECU (which the best first mods- uppipe, reflash, exhaust, downpipe all do). Intakes, while not adding much if any power, are also grounds for denying warranty claims on the engine. Also, certain supension mods will void covereage of other suspension parts, and the previously mentioned alarms and turbo-timers can affect your warranty on electrical parts.

i've taken my car in for the window once, about to take it in again for another window and maybe the squeaky front seat. I've had the speedometer, front sway bar bushings, and they updated my record with an A-pillar repair but it was never broken as far as i know.

reverse has difficultly because there are no synchros on our reverse gear. a better gear oil makes it easier but doesn't fix the situation (was going to say problem, but it's a design issue).
