Lets get this party started!
I would like to hear more about the clutch shudder. My 02 seems to have abit of it when cold, but later, it's gone. Is it a "problem" or a "characteristic" of the WRX? Mine now has 13K miles.

clutch shudder in an '02
From what I've read in the other boards here, and on Vivid Racing's forum, the '02s are notorius for clutch shudder. The 02 model RS that I had did it, but my 03 WRX does not.
Just took my car in for a clunking drivers window. Top bolt holding the regulator in fell out. Every time I'd open a window, the bottom bolt would torque hard, bending the metal severely. Upon inspection, and that my car was over warranty, they recommended fixing it with an oversized washer. It worked and cost was minimal. The only other fix would have been a door skin replacement.
Make sure you pull your door panels off once in a while to check them, as this is a common problem. There's even a service notice out.

i tried to launch from 5k rpms and somethin went boom boom.. i took it in to dealer and they fixed it.. cost like 2 grand worth of tranny parts but they did it! i love my service manager!! WOOT chuck u rule!
i tried bringing in my car for the clutch judder.......... and they said they had to have the service guys replicate it......... and since the car is stubborn and wouldnt do it for them they wouldnt do it........... and it usually does it only on cold humid days........ and im in vegas and those days are very rare...... so yes it definately depends on the dealership

Memo to Subaru Service
When I went to the Subaru dealership a couple of weeks ago, I was chatting with a couple of the guys in the service department. They informed me that they had just received a memo from SOA stating that the warranty of the drivetrain is to be voided if a K&N air filter is used. Does that make sense to anyone?

HAY iwas told the same last week! My K&N airfilter Voided my warranty. So i had to pay $230.00 for a new front O/2. I have 34000 MI. The filter is in the stock air box!
I also contacted a law ferm about the TSB not being made public.
IT s Like "Buy a Subaru, GO play with it , Go race It!"....."Oh we forgot to tell you, that voids your warranty."

16k miles and the only warranty issues i've had have been a broken front cup holder (due to the crappy design, they should have just sold the car without one) and a couple of steering wheel alignment issues.

Contact a lawyer. If they denied warranty work due to the filter, it is illegal. The filter is a part that is replaced during routine maintenance, therefore the dealer must provide them to you free of charge, or you can use any other filter you like withOUT having your warranty voided.
