how does DMV record works?

If i had a 2 points ticket LONG time ago (definitly more than 3 years). Would the insurance company still see it? In any way? Through DMV or other means?

get a DMV print out to check on your records. It costs around $12-15 bux (not sure) at your local DMV.
You'll find out if your record is clean... Good luck

If I recall correctly, points stay on your DMV record for 7 years.

Used to be 37months from the date of the offense. Tickets only appear on your record when the case is closed and it is recorded as a conviction (court sends notification and dmv records the ticket on your record).

You should always postpone paying or fighting tickets for as long as possible so that the total time it's on your record (and you pay lower ins rates) is less.

i am sure the points are gone, but might still be in my record. most insurance company only cares about the recent 3 years, which I am okay with. But farmers now has better rate but they look for the past 7 years.

i did fight and lost...
