How bad will the traffic/crowds for Tahoe this weekend?

thanks for the replies fellas.

The die is cast so the trip is happening.

We may be able to get on the road by 1pm. I'd rather take 80 then 50, since i know that route the best.

Anyone know if they require chains on a suby w SUMMER tires?

80 wont take you anywhere near kirkwood (it goes to northlake)

if there is snow on the roads, you are suppoed to have snow tires even with AWD. Some times they let you go, sometimes no (they actually checked my tire rating once when the roads were pretty bad)

thanks for the input.

The cabin is in south tahoe and I know 80 goes north by Truckee. I plan to switch to 50 at Sac.
