So my Skunk2 exhaust does 106 db, if I add a silencer, how much will this decrease the db?

 

Bro, I live in Hercules too. I have gotton about four tickets in our lovely town. Jus got my ticket in the mail for 500 sumthin, for front plates, tint, n blow off valve. Hercules police suck!!! I got a fixit on my RS for my exhaust but when I jus recently got pulled over in my WRX, he didnt trip too much thanx to my K'Sai exhaust from LICmotorsports (quiet n almost stock looking). Good luck keeping a low profile..

Only Oakland and Richmond (and the areas in between them) cops don't care. Everywhere else you're ****ed.

 

You have to drive a black Integra Type-R though.

 

It's the Colma cops u have to worry about. DC cops aren't as bad.

 

got pulled over for my exhaust that resembled an evo2, i was pretty much going 5th at 40 (which was seriously no noise), and he just decided to bust a U in traffic, swerving in and out of ppls way just to get to me, and gave me a ticket for "ground shattering loud exhaust". oh well, it's really a coin toss with bay area cops, some will pull u over some will tail you then blow by you, it's really a luck of the draw. i hate the ones that make it look like they know what they're doing, but really don't, the same cop that pulled me over stared at my bov for more than 5 minutes, poking it, and even saw the big HKS on it and didn't write me for it. I enjoy the look of my new Cobb TBE, looks stock. =]

Let's see... I have front plates, stock BOV and clear windows. Guess won't have too much of a reason to pull me over YET. I guess I'll have to install the silencer *sigh*. But I think i'm going to tint my windows 35% front/20% rear/20% back window. I believe that's legal limit. Hey we should meet up sometime. Nice to know very local subie owners

 

checked up on legal front tint in CA about a month ago, it's freakin 70%! that's not even worth ur $$

 

Ive had my STI for 3 years and ive gotten about 4-5 tickets for exhaust, 1 for tint, and 1 for no front plate.

I have an Invidia resonated N1 which is pretty loud.

 

WTF?! I swear, I see like every other stock car on the free way with at least 35% tint on their windows. That's total BS

 

Got any stories in Santa Clara you'd like to share? I'm only asking cause I thought Santa Clara was bad too, but one of my buddies lives there and drives his STi with a magnaflow (Invidia N1 status) catback and catless dp and told me hes never had any problems around there.
