So... I just got the Skunk2 Exhaust, and I found out it's a loud *** ****! LOL, so on a rating 1-10, how **** are cops in the bay? I would assume that it's in the middle to about a 6 or 7 just because there's a big tuning community in the bay. What do you think?

 

it all depend on where you drive. some cops are pretty bad like in 925 area and in the fremont area but not to sure in hercules

I have the Blitz Nur-Spec and I've been stopped 3 times. All around Fremont, 2 due to noise level, and one CHP who got me on vision of it being a modified muffler. So it all depends, 3 times mostly within about year. I've owned the car with exhaust for over 4 years.

 

in my experience it really has a lot to do with how you drive and the cop. some cops are dicks just waiting to pull someone over while others actually do their job and do it well. if you are speeding and get pulled over dont B**ch that you got a ticket. but some cops will pull you over if they see the smallest mods.

but they way you drive affects a lot more. I have a straight pipe with no muffler, no cats, and no resonators and I have yet to be pulled over with it. trust me this setup is A LOT louder than the blitz. but I rarely go over 70mph on the freeway and I dont gun it every chance I get on the streets. I drive all over the bay(SF,Fremont,Oakland,San Jose,etc). anyways moral of the story, dont drive like an asshat and cops usually will not give you a hard time.

 

^^ Truth. Generally if you act like an adult you'll be treated like an adult. Go around WOT from light to light, reving, and generally acting the fool you'll get bent over by 'the man'.

Oh, and 95% of your headaches will disappear if you go with a oval muffler instead of a canister/melon shooter.

 

Haha, luckily I don't go to the Fremont/South bay very often. I mostly commute to SF (dunno if that's a bad or good thing) to see the girl. Well hopefully when i get my AP, I can set it to economy mode and prevent the tendency to go fast :P

if u go to sf state be careful, the sf state cops have nothing to do and will pull over anyone for doing anything illegal.

 

Ive had the blitz nur spec R on my wrx for about a year now and only got popped once for it. it wasnt even by SFPD though, it was the b****a** state police that roam around SF state. Just like 04cali said, just dont race around like a douche and you should be alright. I did hear that cops in suburban citys are more **** than cops in the city though.

 

Even though a lot of cops are **** in the bay, other cops in VA or like PA or smaller or suburban ish cities, are way worse. They are idiots and will do anything to stop you. In the Bay, yes SOME cops are idiots, but a lot of them are chill, younger guys that are easy to deal with. Just don't drive like an idiot, be on the look out for cops if you HAVE to speed, but if you get pulled over, it's your fault not the cops. If you have loud exhaust and see a cop ahead, put it in neutral and if he starts to follow you, just get out of your way. Head into a parking lot or make a right turn and he's gone, no more worries.
