Home Security Help.

Alright fellow I-clubbers. I`m shopping for a decent home security camera and was wondering if anyone knows of one reliable and worth purchasing. Preferably a domed style one. The reason being that a few people were spotted in my neighborhood early this morning breaking into cars and stealing GPS`, stereos, etc. The cops were called while they were spotted in front of my house peeking into our cars with flashlights. Two of them were apprehended and were caught redhanded with a bag of GPS devices while the third fled.

Well glad they were caught at least. I am sure the third will apprehended soon enough. Not an expert on home security. But I am sure someone will chime in

This is a topic I've been meaning to ask about as well.

Sorry I'm no help with home security devices, but in cases like this, can I lawfully brandish a weapon and show intent to use? Like if someone breaks into my house or hops my fence and is trying to steal my car while it's in my driveway, can I lawfully bring out my gun (NOT SHOOT THE GUY unless it was seriously life threatening) and apprehend him on the ground until law enforcement arrives?

Anyone have any insight on this?

Ive been told by some people that I can't because I would be charged with "Assault with a deadly weapon" and intent to cause harm

to further complicate this, I'm re-building a retainer wall in the backyard of a house my parents rent out. It is in our families name and the renters were notified i would be doing the work but i guess there was some confusion. I was digging when a renter of whom i never seen and he threatened me saying he could have broughten out his gun and shot me. Can he do this? I guess he wasn't notified properly and there was some confusion. But shooting me on our property. hmm?

I work for advanced security systems. We have an office in Santa Rosa. A Basic camera system with a dvr installed is not cheap...but well worth it. But when it comes down to it its hard to identify exactly who it is....its hard to get a good shot unless you aim the cameras DIRECTLY at your car and nothing else.

We sell bosch dvr's and cameras.

From what I understand, you cannot bring out a weapon with intent to fire in California unless they are making an obvious attempt to break into your house. Hopping your fence and being on your property does not give you a right to do so. With the car stuff I'm not so sure
