i know bondo sucks but sometime is a better alternative than replacing parts. I recently starting working at a bodyshop and guess what I am learning? BONDO!! haha... If you get a good bondo guy, it's not too bad. The guy would/should pull most of the dent out before applying the bondo. Unfortunately, some don't care, they just smack them on and can come out VERY uneven.
But I've seen cases where they have to cut and weld the panels off. or get aftermarket parts where they don't line up well. You think you hate bondo? man, don't be at the shop and to see how they try to line up your new parts.
also, if you are getting used parts, they don't come perfect. there could still be dents and stuff. guess what they'll do/use most of the time? yep, you guessed it, BONDO!
I do PDR and now learing to bondo (hopefully paint soon), I have to say bondo is not all that bad. It's funny, I am better at bondo than I am with PDR. LOL!
