Hid help
Not subaru related, but in need of some help. This pertains to a Toyota though, which owns 20% of Subaru therefore this is 1/5th appropriate.
So, my brother has a car, an '89 Corolla wagon with a JDM front. This car uses 9006 bulbs, but the JDM front has H4 lenses.
The situation now is that we got an HID kit from DDMtuning.com and we don't know to what degree our cousin modified or changed anything and everything.
We have an old HID kit in there with these bulbs(both of which are dead)
And we have this connector coming off the car to the headlights that the new HID kit can't connect to.
Simple solution, solder it and get it working using the old male connector we have, but my brother's doesn't want to go that route.
Anyone know what we have here? The new HID kit has rounded plugs(out of the bulbs) that won't plug into the older style ballast.
Sorry for the long read, but I'm helping him as much as I can to get him able to drive at night.

if the car originally used 9006 and the jdm requires h4 bulbs. then you buy the h4 kit. if the plugs dont match, then go to kragen and buy new plugs to put on the end of the hid bulb leads to fit the 9006 fitting. it should cost a couple bucks. personally i have to solder in new bulbs everytime one goes out or i choose to change colors but thats just how i have my system set up to keep everything waterproof.
