Yep, heard the same thing from Gary at Mann a few weeks ago. Will be interesting to see just how different the platforms will be and if the styling will be significantly different from the Impreza.

Guys, have you seen topgear website etc, claiming
New scion fr-s=200hp
Subaru brz-295
Claiming they both weigh 2450~
Will they sti/impreza loose their name, or just the crap models will get new names?

Both cars should have the same power, about 200. As for the weight, that won't be the US models.

From what I've read they'll both have the same engine with similar power. The weight will be between 2600 and 2800, with the European version being closer to 2600 and the American version closer to 2800.
Yup, if the STi varient of the all-new WRX is suppose to be the next entrant back into the WRC then it should be badass to the max! Just imagine a car shorter & smaller than the new Impreza (probably lighter but much wider) with 2 doors (coupe but most likely a proper hatchback like the ones used in WRC right now) & at least 300 hp/tq AWD power, it should look as good as it goes! As per WRC regs, it will sport only a 1.6L boxer 4cyl motor, but could get a torque (standing takeoff) boost from being twincharged, a supercharger on low revs with a turbo kicking up on top end, to make up for the lack of displacement. Sounds very interesting, i've been waiting for Subaru to finally make a nice rally car again & it looks promising from what i've read. It's about time to truly get back to what the STi was made for in the first place. If it's as good as it sounds, i don't know whether to trade in my 06 STi for it since my payments are up in that time frame, it'll be hard decision for sure if the new one coming is a ****ing beast!
