Help with Spring Install tomorrow???

Can anyone help out installing rear springs on an '06 WRX? We tried to get it done ourselves today, and couldn't get one of the rear bolts off. In fact, it's stripped so it will probably need to be cut off. Does anyone out there have a dremel or tool to cut off the rear strut bolt and complete the spring install? I'd be more than happy to bring pizza/beer (or money) or what have you. Thanks!

****, I wish I had seen this earlier...I'm on my way up to the bay area in a few hours. What bolt are you having problems with? is it the one on the top of the strut? I think what we did was:

1-put a nut on one of the 3 bolts sticking up from the strut
2-put a long closed wrench on the bolt with nut that you put on it and lay it across one of the other 2 bolts. this will give you a good amount of leverage on the strut to keep it from moving when you put the ratchet on the center bolt/nut.

we first tried it without putting that other nut on, but the wrench kept sliding off, so we put the nut on there to stop it.

hope this helps

Hey, sounds good. I am actually working next Saturday, but my brother is going to be doing the rears. The bolt is pretty stripped, not completely rounded, but enough so that the 19mm socket won't really grab it. It will no doubt need to be replaced, but I THINK that maybe hammering on a 18mm socket (12pt maybe?) and hammering the hell out of it or using a breaker bar might get it off. I am free on Friday though, if you have time then we could do it. Otherwise it's going to just be my bro. Let me know either way, thanks!

You mean the nut is stripped, right? You could always get a stripped nut remover tool from Sears for like $20.

Which of the 3 strut nuts are stripped?
