Great deal on a nice bike which would be a decent fit for someone your size. Don't know if it's still FS. Also, no connection to seller, just remembered the killer deal. Almost bought it myself just for the parts.
It would be foolish to get anything else but this for the purpose of light trail riding. Too good of a deal.

Just checked out this TREK, thinking I would do better with a hybrid since I want something more comfortable and a bit versatile then a straight road bike. $450 seems like a pretty good deal for brand new but still a bit more then I was hoping for

If you want something versatile get a cyclocross bike. Good in the mud/dirt/or on road.

Oh and everyone making fun of fixed gear bikes. I own one and race it. They are not dumb if ridden in the right place (read "at the velodrome track"). Riding them on the street however is not the smartest thing in the world.

Or I used to race it. Before I got lazy and fat. I may need to go for a ride or two with Krink

That's an ok bike. Front fork travel doesn't look too great and you might have a hard time with the handle bar shifters.
I rode a 51/52 cm road bike till it got stolen.

My buddy did a century on one... TRIPPING!

I've done probably 50 or so miles on one before. It's rough.

And you want to talk fat. When I raced and road 200-250 miles a week I weighed 205 pounds and was pretty damn yoked. Now that I don't... 265. Well I'm getting my **** together and I'm hovering between 235-245 right now. Goal is 200-215. Then I shall shave my head and be back to my scary *** looking self.

and if you're looking for a cross bike or a towny... buy the one I have. Hell I'll do partial trade with you. They're worth like $4-500 because people go crazy and collect them but I was thinking more like $200 and it's so unridden I don't think the seat ever even got tightened.

And I'll deliver it. I'm nice like that. Buy you buy the first round.

It's not that simple. My diet is actually pretty good. I have some binges and bad days but I don't drink much and I eat a primarily organic healthy diet.

Example of the average day.
Oatmeal in the morning with a half banana and a few blueberries toss in. No butter. No milk. Lunch is a sandwich with whole wheat bread and no spreads of any kinds. Dinner. Grilled chicken and salad. Don't eat grains that much these days.

Yet I weight 245 pounds... why? Because I went from being an athlete to a desk jockey. I can loose some weight with SUPER strict diets. But I plateau in the the 230's. I can't get below that without working out.

Combo my current eating with a bow flex and a couple days on a bike. Bam.

Good for gomer for doing something about it before it's too late. But yeah... drinking less will certainly help you buddy. LOL!
